I’m DJ CliffJump, and my journey begins in the vibrant rave scene that thrived between Chicago and Milwaukee. Growing up amidst the pulsating rhythms and energy of House Music, I discovered its unique ability to ignite passion and unite souls on the dance floor.
Music runs deep in my veins—my mother, a gifted pianist, introduced me to its dynamic essence early on. My first rave was a revelation; standing in awe as the DJ performed atop a towering set of speakers, I thought to myself, “This is what I want to do.” That moment sparked my ambition, and I began investing in equipment to bring sound to life. Back then, some DJs didn’t have their own sound systems, so I would provide mine for free, earning a chance to open shows. Backstage conversations with accomplished DJs inspired me to refine my craft, starting with rhythm. I took up hand drums, mastering the Dumbek over two decades. Today, I play with incredible speed, creating mesmerizing beats—up to 32 hits per motion—on park stages where crowds love to hear me perform.
When it comes to DJing, I found my place in the world of music, blending drums, keys, and the sharp crack of the high-hat, layered with the soulful vocals that make House Music a transformative experience. Each set is a journey, a story told through sound that evolves, captivates, and leaves listeners craving more. To keep the groove alive, I’m constantly discovering new tracks and meticulously logging how they fit into my sets—adjusting, refining, and reinventing my approach to connect with audiences.
Witnessing the evolution of electronic music has been a blessing. While I deeply cherish Chicago House, I’ve expanded my repertoire to include Tribal, Latin, Euro, and Hard House styles. My dedication has earned appreciation from listeners and artists alike, with uploads on MixCloud reaching high ranks on global charts.
