Please review the following common reasons a submission might be excluded or rejected:
Incomplete or incorrect metadata Ensure details like ISRC codes, titles, and contributor names are accurate and complete.
Duplicate registrations Works already registered by you or someone else may be declined as duplicates.
Ownership disputes Conflicting claims from co-creators or publishers can put a hold on registration.
Unregistered collaborators Some societies require all named parties to be registered with them.
Non-compliance with local rules Submission must meet specific criteria set by each organization (e.g. duration, format, release type).
Unsupported genres or media formats For instance, podcasts, jingles, or ambient/non-musical sound may not be covered by default.
No usage or performance history Some agencies only register works that have been broadcast, streamed, or performed.
Lapsed rights agreements Expired or invalid licenses/publishing agreements can affect eligibility.
Territorial coverage limitations Submitting a UK-only work to a non-UK agency may cause rejection.
Ethical or legal violations Works containing hate speech or offensive content may be rejected on moral rights grounds.
At Soundwave Radio, we take your music seriously. When you submit your track for copyrighting, we commit to the following on your behalf:
We’ll collect all essential details—like track title, ISRC codes, and contributors—to ensure your music is correctly registered with official copyright and royalty organizations.
With your consent, we’ll handle submissions to UK and European royalty agencies, including PRS for Music, PPL, MCPS, GEMA, SACEM, SGAE, SUISA, and more—ensuring global protection where applicable.
We’ll confirm what rights you’d like covered (such as performance, mechanical, or streaming) and make sure your music is registered in the correct regions.
You’ll receive confirmation once your submission is registered or if any issues arise—transparency is part of the service.
All your information is handled securely and in line with data protection laws, including GDPR. Only authorized team members handle your submissions.
Need to update contributor credits? Change royalty splits? Have questions about your royalty statements? We’re here to help long after registration is complete.
